Their usual morning walk was abruptly disturbed by a loud rumbling Bruce could not identify. Continuing their course, Icho suddenly felt his leash tighten and hear his master gasping for air... Bruce felt all fibers of his body rushing with adrenaline, yet he was unable to move an inch. His gaze was locked, eyes wide open, though he felt like he was dreaming.
Icho, having caught up with what startled Bruce, braced himself to protect his friend no matter what!
A ninety feet tall beast locked eyes with the terrified duo as he casually set forth his course, leaving them frozen in place until he vanished from sight.
Bruce had taken Icho to work that day. The strange encounter of that morning had unleashed a fiery curiosity in Bruce he had rarely felt before…along with a burning desire to fuel it!
These feelings felt so alien to him…He had been routinely living his life working a dead end job void of passion or purpose. And for the first time in decades he felt awake again!
Before the clock could strike 5pm, Bruce was gone. Picking up Icho from a friend nearby, taking the car and racing to the place where they went walking that very morning.
Fuelled with energy, adrenaline and excitement, the duo rushed into forest they had been trying to get out of equally fast just a few hours ago…
Tiny Dragon 3
Third and final submission for the Tiny Dragon Book
“They chased her down a narrow cave and surrounded her before she could escape. Upon further inspection, as their eyes adjusted, the darkness revealed what they were up against. Her clothing was worn down through time…Her armour, a set of trophies scavenged from others who had encountered her. She wore a shield around her tummy that wasn’t from this age, it looked ancient…This creature has walked this earth for many winters. Her stance did not portray a creature on the run about to be attacked, either… She stood high and upright, confident and calm…Her gaze locked firmly on her opponents. They soon realised they hadn’t trapped her at all….she led them here."
